Street Closures

Stop Sign

In most cases, it is not feasible to consult the entire campus community before scheduling a street closure. However, campus events are carefully considered prior to setting the date for a street closure. Generally, two weeks to one-month advance notice is given to the campus community. Facilities Management notifies building proctors of street closures via a notification form. Building proctors are responsible for informing their building occupants of campus street closures.

Meridian Avenue Closure Due to Construction Projects

Another round of major construction projects is changing the face of Colorado State University, and will also change vehicular access through campus for a while. Meridian Avenue will close to thru traffic from South Drive to Laurel Street on May 16, 2011 and will not open again until end of construction sometime in summer/fall of 2013.

Meridian Ave. will become the primary route for construction traffic supporting the Parmelee 4th floor, Engineering II, Library addition and LSC Theater renovation projects. We anticipate a large volume of construction traffic, so in the interest of safety Meridian Ave. will only be open to construction traffic, Transfort, emergency and service vehicles. Pedestrian and bike traffic will be accommodated in separate marked lanes outside of the construction haul routes. Please see the attached map for more information and contact Fred Haberecht at 970-491-0162 for questions or more information.

Thanks for your patience and understanding as these construction projects commence.
