Defensive Driver Training for Passenger Vans
On April 9, 2001, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NTHSA) issued a "Consumer Advisory" warning the users of passenger vans, that under certain load conditions, these vehicles have an increased risk of rollover, displaced center of gravity, and difficulty in handling while towing cargo.
With safety considerations in mind, the administration at Colorado State University issued a policy regarding the operation of passenger vans. The policy requires that operators be guided through an informative program to help reduce the potential for rollovers and other safety considerations.
This program consists of a narrated guide with live action scenarios. The program will take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete. When you have completed the guide, download the Passenger Van Agreement
document. Please print the document, sign it, and BRING IT WITH YOU when you pick up the van.
No passenger van will be rented without completing the guide and signing the agreement. Agreements will be kept on file at Transportation Services.
